Calveys Restuarant Achill Island ’s number one authentic eating house is set in the idyllic village of Keel with commanding views of the Minaun Cliffs and Keel Beach.

We are a family run restaurant which prides itself in offering to you the finest of local produce some free range, organic and wild foods. The restaurant in Achill, is now managed by Maeve Calvey, daughter of Martin and Angela Calvey who started their business in the summer of 1970.

Maeve and her team of hard working chefs, offer a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy the modern style freshly prepared food, from award winning chef, Danny Colman.

All our fish and shellfish for the restaurant are caught locally. Charlie O’Malley takes us lobsters and crab daily whilst O’Gorman’s Fish Shop supplies us with the likes of fresh plaice, cod, lemon sole, black sole, john dory and monkfish to name a few.

You can dine with confidence in our Achill restaurant , knowing all our produce is certified from farm to fork. Our signature dish in the restaurant is Achill Island organic lamb which is supplied to us by Calvey’s Butchers. This is an in-house operation and Calvey’s Butchers are the sole producers of Certified Organic Achill Island lamb traceable to their licensed abattoir – Licence No. 278. They also supply us with local Angus Beef. Our 12 – 16oz tender Angus Beef Steak are melt in your mouth.

We take our commitment to traceability very seriously for you, our diner. In accordance with the Feile Bia Charter our beef, lamb, pork, chicken and eggs are sourced from local and quality assured suppliers to ensure certified tractability from farm to fork.

Calveys Restaurant Achill has featured on the television programme Bia agus Bothar and is highly recommended Irish Country Homes of Ireland, Leading Restaurants of Ireland and committed to the Feile Bia Charter. It is personally recommended by John by Sally Mc Kenna - Bridgestone Best in Ireland and Lucindia O Sullivan -Great Places to Eat.

We offer a wide selection of quality wines from renowned producers. All our wines are sourced so you the diner can put pleasure before price. Our selection of wines are handpicked to complement our meals.
